David Hockney’s Road Across Wolds arrives as a poster—where the quiet rhythm of the English countryside meets the bold clarity of his signature style. This is a scene you’ll want to pause in front of, where the road itself becomes the subject, winding through rolling hills under a sky that feels both expansive and intimate. The print captures the way Hockney renders light: soft on the distant horizons, sharp along the road’s edges, as if the very air is alive with movement. The palette is a study in contrasts, with muted greens and earthy browns anchoring the landscape, while the occasional splash of yellow or blue pulls the eye forward like a beacon on the horizon. It’s a print that invites study, where every curve of the road and every fold of the hills tells a story of place and time.
