This is the artwork—where golden foliage cascades over a quiet landscape, its leaves rendered in Hockney’s signature flat yet vivid brushwork, catching the last soft glow of autumn. The palette is warm and restrained, with deep ochres, muted greens, and the faintest blush of pink in the sky, all laid down with crisp, confident lines that invite closer inspection. The composition balances movement and stillness: the leaves drift diagonally across the canvas, their shapes echoing the curves of the branches below, while the distant horizon holds the scene in quiet balance. There’s a sense of time slowing, as if you could reach out and touch the crisp air of an autumn afternoon.
